Local Walks
Please feel free to borrow our ordnance survey map and explore the local area.
One of the best walks has to be up to Quy Hall and along the river to Lode and Lode Mill. Along here, you will pass behind the grounds of Anglesey Abbey (a National Trust property). Walk down Orchard Street towards the main road and on your left at the end you will see a metal 5 bar gate behind which there is a long avenue. Walk right to the end of the avenue and turn left after the style, passing through another style on your left straight away. Walk forwards towards the river and Quy Hall should come into view.
As you face the hall, turn right and walk along the river, climbing over a style into a wooded area. At the end you will come to Quy pond where there are normally a collection of duck and swans to feed or horses having a splash with their riders.
Cross over the bridge, pass through another style on your right and follow the river along. Please note that the first section of this is through a field of horses. You will eventually reach a wooded section, which is quite enchanting and finally come into Lode where the water mill still produces flour.
